Honoring Our Hospice Chaplains

For Above & Beyond Hospice, we believe healing involves more than just the body; it includes the mind and spirit. During Spiritual Care Week, we proudly recognize the compassionate work of our hospice chaplains, who provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during life’s most tender moments.

What Hospice Chaplains Do

Hospice chaplains are specially trained spiritual care providers who walk alongside patients and families facing serious illness or end-of-life transitions. Their role is deeply personal and profoundly impactful:

  • Listening with compassion to patients’ fears, hopes and life reflections.
  • Supporting families through grief, uncertainty and spiritual questions.
  • Honoring diverse beliefs and cultural traditions with respect and sensitivity.
  • Facilitating prayer or sacred moments when requested.

Collaborating with the care team to ensure holistic support

Whether someone identifies with a faith tradition or not, our chaplains meet each person where they are—offering presence, peace and dignity.

Spiritual Care Is Whole-Person Care

At Above & Beyond, our mission is rooted in whole-person care—supporting the body, mind and spirit. Hospice chaplains are an essential part of this effort. They help patients find meaning, comfort and connection, even in the face of loss or uncertainty.

Spiritual care doesn’t always involve religion; it’s about honoring what gives life purpose. For some, that’s faith. For others, it’s family, nature, music or legacy. Our chaplains help patients explore these sources of strength and peace.

Thank You to Our Hospice Chaplains

To our Above & Beyond Hospice chaplains: thank you. Your presence brings light to difficult days. Your words offer comfort when it’s needed most. And your care helps families feel supported, seen and loved.

You are a vital part of our mission and we celebrate you this Spiritual Care Week and always.
